    Great SSD hard drive

This hard drives works really well in my Dell laptop now my computer boots up in a good 10-15 seconds. Very fast hard drive easy to install its plug and play. Id recommend this hard drive to any who would like to speed up their computer.

  • This SSD has dazzling speed. Needs better lifetime estimate.

I bought this for my Lenovo ThinkPad, hoping to get it up to a competitive speed. The Samsung has a competitive price, and I respect the company. My computer guru installed it for me, created a clone of my old drive, and off I went. It is brilliant. I find working with it ever so much easier, not having to wait while all the mysterious things happen. Browsing is amazingly fast. Until I got it I had no idea just how much time the machine spends waiting for the HD to find the spot. However fast your processor, those thousands of millisecond HD seeks take ages. My reservation is lifetime. There are warnings to set the drive to minimize writes. I could not find how long I might expect the drive to last under the conditions I use it, but for a user with a long time frame in mind I'd recommend ...

  • Great drive , great maintenece programs come with it

Samsung has a dual set of programs that make life much simpler , data transfer , which from experience I installed my OS with all updates and some software before doing th transfer from my original disc , because files in use cannot be copied , that made the Samsung work perfect , the magician program keeps the drives at optimum all the time with no slow downs .. Great drive 1 terabyte times 2 means I am done spending for awhile

  • Buy and install an every machine you have!

Today, it really doesn't make sense to buy a platter drive when the speed and durability of an SSD means that it is more survivable than anything to date. Besides, Platter Drive prices belie the idea that you're getting a great deal, when in fact, the failure rates are abysmal and you'll be dealing with slow speeds AND failures. Pay the extra money for an SSD, but don't forget that the trade-off is Backup, Backup, Backup... Coz when an SSD fails, you're not getting anything off of it forensically.

  • Fast - I get ready to wait for a reboot and seconds later, it's waiting

You know how we get used to applying updates and waiting for a system to reboot afterward thinking it's going to be a few minutes? More than once I have been surprised to see the system waiting for me to log in a few seconds later. My first thought is that it never rebooted, but it did. It's just that the machine went down and up and applied the updates that fast. I love it. This weekend I worked on consolidating my old machines into my laptop. The old machines had old disks around 40 gig to 100 or so gig and perhaps a half gig of memory or less--I think one had about 128meg or possibly less. I used LapLink's PCMover software which isn't perfect, but at least I could get most of what I needed moved over. From there you may have to put on your geek hat to adjust where certain ...
