So Far - So Good
The Y-Clip and plastic piece have only been installed for a little over two weeks. Even after using the "Fd", forced defrost and turning off the refrigerator for about 2 1/2 hours I wasn't able to remove all of the residual ice in the ice maker. I installed the Y-Clip and plastic piece anyway, as I didn't want the food in the refrigerator to heat up any more. So far the ice maker appears to be working better, with no visible evidence of excessive ice build-up. Replaced defective ice maker. This part was recommended to be replaced at the same time. Looks the same as the one I removed. But, it was inexpensive and wife is happy because icemaker works, so I guess it was a good value.
