My original had a black lid that was different from this but since I don't actually use the lid it's fine. I've used that other cup every single day for the last 15yrs for my morning cup of coffee and other assorted drinks and it's still holding up like it's brand new. I've also microwaved that cup everyday to warm up water for my coffee (I drink instant) and it's held up.
