Product Information

Burt Lancaster stars as Cross, a US intelligence veteran whose CIA chief McLeod (John Colicos) has marked him for termination. On the run from the assassin, the old spy takes refuge with his Soviet counterpart--a retired KGB operative, Zharkov (Paul Scofield). That action only makes matters worse, however, by confirming the chief's suspicions that Cross is betraying America and working with the Russians. Together with Zharkov, Cross must outwit the assassin and clear his name. SCORPIO is a highly underrated spy classic. Directed by Michael Winner (DEATH WISH, THE MECHANIC), it features a plethora of high speed chases, machine gun show downs, and plummeting exploded objects.

    Cold War Thriller

    I first saw this on TV in the late 70s and remembered some of the basic plot. This is definitely a good cold war spy thriller and of course Burt Lancaster is great in it. It has a good supporting cast which were TV regulars during 70's tv shows. If you like spy shows or Burt Lancaster then this is worth adding to your collection..

    A LASTING LANCASTER

    A HIDDEN LANCASTER GEM!! Not many people remember this unheralded later movie of one of the charter members of HOLLYWOODS GOLDEN AGE. as always, mr Lancaster excels in this Cold War drama.!
