    leak fixer

    Like many others, my 2003 Explorer Sport Trac developed a coolant leak due to this OEM resin part splitting. The leak couldn't be seen from the front of the engine, but coolant would be dribbling down the right side of the engine. So, the item comes complete with a new thermostat already mounted, and the housing has two sensor holes, and an o-ringged plug in one of them for applications that only have one temp sensor. My Sport Trac uses two sensors, so the extra o-ring was a bonus that came no extra charge on the unneeded plug. A fellow has a nice step by step how-to posted on the internet - just google "explorer thermostat housing" and it'll show up. The item fits perfectly, and is a one-part fix. With the OEM parts, you'll be ordering upper housing, lower housing, bottom o-ring, ...
