About this product

Product Information

The Sigma Aspherical Macro is a tele-macro camera lens that has a unique focus system. This Sigma Camera Lens for Pentax features the Helical focusing system which allows users to easily incorporate filters, and a "Perfect Hood." The Sigma Aspherical Macro also includes a flare-cut aperture which reduces glare issues in the shots, which improves image quality. Aside from what was mentioned, this 28 mm - 80 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens has a special depth scale on the barrel, allowing photographers to specify and calculate their desired depth of field. With a minimum focus distance of under 20 inches, the Sigma Camera Lens for Pentax excels at close-ups. This 28 mm - 80 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is also compact, and lightweight, at only 9 oz (a little over half a pound). The Sigma Aspherical Macro is easy to tuck into a carry-on bag, and it makes a fine companion for a Pentax camera.

Item arrived as described & some quick tinkering got it operational, ready for a full restoration. Packaging should have been better for shipping such a large/heavy item, buy it did arrive OK. A tracking number was promptly provided. I had asked the seller questions about the item before purchase, which were not replied to.

  • Sleeper that is too often overlooked!

This lens is definitely above average! Pros: ·1:2(half life size) macro mode ·useful focal range ·decent image quality ·accurate color reproduction ·easy to use ·lightweight ·Price ·Pretty accurate AF for price point and consumer lens Cons: ·A tad lacking in contrast, but easily fixed in post with no ill after effects ·cheaper build quality, but still decent ·CA/PF can be an issue under certain conditions, but nothing that can not be corrected in post easily ·slow and louder AF, but not too noisy I love this lens, lol! Extremely lightweight! IQ is phenomenal for the type of lens and price point! Sharpness is quite decent as is overall IQ. I shot everything from macros to portraits to even a wedding due to a lens malfunction and it handled them all very well! Add on a ...

  • Sigma 28-80mm

Older model sigma but works just fine on both my Canon T5 and T7 has a macro setting switch when you are 80mm works ok will try it with extension tubes and close up filters see how that works. I like it was a good price and shipping was fast

  • Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Macro for Nikon AF-D

Although this lens is no longer in production it is quite useful as a `walk around lens' for any Nikon AF camera (except those requiring motorized lenses). It uses Ø55mm filters, among the lowest price category that you can find. The macro function is useful but for really close work a set of Ø55mm close up lenses is necessary. For a few years Sigma also made this lens for Ritz/Wolf Camera stores who sold it as their private label Quantaray brand.

  • Perfect substitute carry-on lens

The Sigma 28-80mm (Minolta mt) is one of my favorites. It is handy- truly a carry-on lens. It's all around, and available for the roughest settings and conditions. One does not need to worry about the quality of images because it shoots sharply (within known technical limits as amateur photogs should be aware of :P). It produces better colors than modern equivalents (Sony or Nikkors), and most importantly, it's way cheaper. All this qualities make it a recommended lens and a perfect addition to anyone's collection.
