Good Drama with just enough war to keep your interest
I saw this movie twice. The first time I paid attention to the story line and how men have to struggle with social levels and the different land scenery used in this movie. the seconds time I saw it I enjoyed the story line of the Roman army over reaching power for land and a few men trying to fix the mess and bad rumors and lies. Friendship and loyalty hanging in the balance of deceit and heroism.
Excellent movie about a son risking his life to restore the tarnished reputation of his father with the loss of the Roman's highly valued Golden Eagle emblem. The son receives help from an unlikely source, a slave he rescues from the gladiator arena. The two men risk their lives traveling through lands owned by hostile Scotts. Friendship and hatred, deceit and heroism, loyalty and betrayal are all part of the relationship of the two men that they have to work out. Great actors and excellent moral ending.
