    Replacement tailgate handle

    Very pleased with my purchase was glade to have the little clips already attached to the new part. Wish they had a key hole plug to install i didn't have the old lock to put in the new handle, so I made my own. Everything thing worked as it should and it look and fit good. Time will tell how it will hold up but so far so good

    It "works"... but just barely. Go with an OEM part of you can. This is not even close.

    Of course, for this price I was not expecting anything close to OEM Toyota quality. But this thing is super super cheap. The OEM latch worked perfectly for 20 yrs. I doubt this will last 20 week or 20 months. And it doesn't really work right. You have to kind of bang on the tailgate a couple of times to get it to latch (close). But it opens OK. Before I discovered it wasn't really working correctly, my tailget dropped down WHILE I WAS DRIVING--with stuff in the back. Now that I'm aware of the defect, I pay more attention and make SURE the latch has released before I head down the road. So, this WILL work... just not very well. If I had the option, I'd prefer a USED OEM part to this brand new piece of junk.

    Great alternative!

    My latch broke and I started looking for an OEM replacement and found this one. This one doesn’t have the metal inside, but it’s a great replacement. That being said the price was definitely right and after a little WD40 at the latches, it works better than before. You have to change out the lock, but that’s pretty easy. 15 minutes to replace. Great alternative and you could buy 25 of them compared to the OEM price.

    Tailgate Handle

    After about 4 years of dealing with a broken tailgate handle, I found this part to replace it. Perfect fit on a 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 Extended Cab. Switched out the locking mechanism and ¡viola!....brand new tailgate handle, no more two hand openings...just got the part on 7/12/19 so we’ll see on it’s durability...

    Good value, easy Installation

    Tailgate handle installed easy. A couple.of bolts to remove old broken handle and to install new one. Holes were slightly off but not enough to cause any major issues. Opens and closes like new. Time will, tell but not sure it will last as long as the original, which lasted 18 years. But for the price, quick delivery and easy installation if it lasts 5-10 years it's still a better value then a new one from Toyota.
