Although this part is described as a vw passat b5 1997-2005 resistor be aware that it might not be the right part. My b5 passat (Yr 2000)was fitted with the one that looks like a metal hedgehog. Nevertheless I returned the part for a full refund minus the p and p. Fair enough really, I should have checked the part before ordering.
