    Second XW8600

    After having such a good exerience with my first XW8600 that I purchased as a primary development workstation, I bought this one as a virtual machine server/redundant hardware backup. I updated the RAM to 16Gb, added two more hard drives and installed Windows Hyper-V Server 2012. This XW8600 is now running two virtual machines for development testing and works great. For the size and horsepower you would think it would be rather loud, but instead I have to look at the front panel to make sure it is powered on. If I ever need to replace one or decide to add a third virtual machine server, I will definitely be looking at either an XW series or Z series workstation.

    Works great for powerful Home PC

    This machine works great as a home PC/media server/home business system. Inexpensive used and well built Dual Xeons are powerful enough to tackle almost anything you throw at it. ( Note: while I do some mild video editing and its great for that, I don't do any gaming so I can't speak to that effect.)
