A superb instrument, another eye through which to glimpse light and shadow. I have many lenses, big and small, but this one takes me somewhere new -- a feeling of liberation when I focus it on a street corner, a house, an old building. It's a little like borrowing the vision of Michelangelo. The Mamiya glass has always had a great reputation; certainly the KL glass for the older Mamiya SD is gorgeous, sharp, without being harsh. The even older Twin Lens C330 glass introduced me to fine photography. But this 43 mm for the Mamiya 7ii takes one to the limit of the visible, even beyond the Biogon, or Hassy glass.
Wider than the 50mm lens size more common for 6x7 cameras, this is a great lens for shooting scenics and architecture shots, as well as shots in close quarters indoors. Its light weight and offers excellent sharpness and low distortion. It will require a viewfinder accessory if you want to preview the contents of the image, as there are no frames for the 43mm in the Mamiya 7 and the coverage is greater than that of the entire viewfinder area. I'm very happy with the sharpness and quality of the images.
Excellent lens, perfect construction. This lens is so sharp at all f.stops that all pictures look flawless even though they maintain that smoothness typical of Mamiya. There is virtually no barrel distortion. This is simply the best lens I have ever owned over any others, both film and digital cameras.
Perfect items!THANKS!!

Had this lens, amazing results, lost it/stolen few months ago and just had to buy another one back. Simply the best MF wide angle lens ever made and at such an affordable price!
