You get what you pay for
I purchased this to replace the OEM Honda tank on my Motoped. I stripped the threads on the original tank using a billet gas cap that was cross threaded, so I decided to spend $20 instead of $50 to replace it. First off, the thread size on the nuts that hold the plastics on are not the same as the Honda, so a trip to the hardware store will resolve this. However, it is sold as clone Honda gas tank, so how hard would it have been to use the actual Honda size thread or include two small bolts? Also, the rubber hardware that mounts it to the frame is much cheaper than the OEM hardware, but I was able to swap it over so no issue there. I believe since the holes for the plastics are larger than OEM, they are in a slightly different location than the OEM tank. This made the forward holes ... I purchased this to replace the OEM Honda tank on my Motoped. The rubber seal that is included inside the gas cap comes out every time you unscrew the cap and it leaks fuel from the cap a little. The seal fell in the tank one time, so I am using the billet cap that came with the Motoped again and will just pay attention when I'm screwing it on to not cross-thread it...again The color of the tank is very flat compared to the shiny OEM tank. Not a big deal but there is a visual difference if that kind of thing is important to you. Does the tank work?...yes! Would I recommend it? If you have $50 get the OEM one. If not, buy this one to get you back out there on the cheap. .
