    My battery (old) was bulging and could barely play 3 songs without a charge. The backlight would not stay on, this so far fixed all of this. Granted the tools are plastic, and broke immediately, and I thanked myself for saving my box of 100 plastic tools for old repairs, first timers please go slow and watch videos, you could be a master and break decade old plastic clips, or ribbons, or worse. You'll find lots of lint and do not guess with ribbon cables, thank you works great!! Upgrading more!

    Battery Replacement - Fits 7th Gen 160GB

    Please be advised that this battery fitted my iPod classic 7th Gen 160GB Silver Model PC293LL. My iPod would not hold a charge longer than 30 mins, and needed battery replacement asap. I was told this battery only fits 5th & 6th Gen iPod. In my desperation to have my iPod running, I decided to purchase item since the battery looked similar to the original battery my iPod came with. The new replacement battery was installed on 04/08/21, and to-date the iPod is working perfectly with no issues and holds a charge for about 2 days. Below please find 2 pictures of the original old battery, and a picture of the new replacement.

    Repair-proof

    The good folks at Apple have done their best to make this unit repair-proof. Ir you want to try replacing this battery, consult a couple of different web sites for advice. You will find that the plastic pry bars supplied are far too flimsy and that a variety of tools is needed. Once you've got it open (minus a few of the tabs) you will find that the battery is GLUED DOWN to the body. The ribbon cable to the 'lock' switch runs under the battery and it's hard to see how the battery could be removed without breaking this cable. Yes, it's a whiz-bang unit, but can it be repaired and is it worth trying?

    Ittsa fine

    My 10 year old Ipod was showing it's age. Wouldn't run on battery more than a half hour. It only worked when left on the charger while playing, so no portability. The Ipod has a 30 gig drive and I have over 3k songs on it but still not close to half full. My IPhone can't hold that much. I'm so glad that I found this battery replacement. It was easy to install using a UTube video, and now the Ipod works like new. Now I can listen to my music while out fishing on my boat. Hope I'll get another 10 years out of it.

    Great, worked great, be careful you break the locking switch

    The product was installed and is working. The trick is how long it lasts. Please note be careful when installing, I broke my iPod locking switch, small ribbon under the battery. This no longer works now on the iPod. It is nice to have a working ipod, great for my kids as they are introduced to all types of music.

    This is the second battery that I have replaced in my 5th generation iPod Classic over the many years that I have owned it. The tools provided with the battery made the replacement a snap. The quality of the battery appears to be well made and the installation went without a hitch. Patience is required when reconnected the battery leads.
