Look no further for an upgrade to your car stereo with Kenwood KDC-255U in-dash CD player, which also functions as an MP3 player and a USB in-dash receiver. This in-dash device can be built-in to your dashboard as long as your vehicle is compatible with the model. The front display on the unit is a fluorescent display with multicolor illumination color, and it has cool backlighting for the controls that allow you to adjust the colors to match your car’s dashboard lighting. The front-side USB port allows you to hook up an Android smartphone, iOS device, or other brand of MP3 player so you can play your favorite music. It’s great to have access to hook up accessories, but the real strength to this receiver is in its versatility. Accessories like a Bluetooth adapter are available to listen to electronics that are Bluetooth-enabled. Use the USB input to play music from your favorite high-definition radio solutions, such as SiriusXM, Pandora Internet radio, iHeart Radio, or other similar applications. Experience a boost in audio quality, including bass strength and general amplification, from the Kenwood KDC-255U CD receiver. The Kenwood car audio solution has a bass boost mode as well as controls for balance, fader, loudness, subwoofer level, and volume. It is a built-in car stereo, however, the faceplate is detachable, which makes it more secure to have in your vehicle as it does not look like there is a stereo inside. With the multiple input options, you can listen to all kinds of different sound, whether you are in the mood to listen to Pandora Internet radio or use the USB to use your MP3 device to listen to your desired audio. The device itself does not have Bluetooth, but it is compatible with Kenwood’s Bluetooth adapter. Without the Bluetooth adapter, you can still listen to wireless audio by using the remote control when your accessories are plugged in via USB input. As compared to Pioneer audio units that only have a two-band equalizer, the Kenwood units have three-band EQ and provide clear and crisp sound. You won’t need to use noise-cancelling headphones or load up on additional electronics accessories, as the Kenwood KDC-255U CD receiver sounds great on your existing car audio speakers. Out of the box, the unit comes with the AM/FM/CD receiver with 10-amp fuse, faceplate, wireless remote control and batteries, and a black cloth faceplate carrying pouch. The audio will be great on your existing speakers with the audio features, such as System Q Sound control, low-pass filter, and sub-level controls. Additional accessories are available for purchase, such as Kenwood’s Bluetooth adapter, HD Radio tuner, satellite radio, additional USB and auxiliary front-panel inputs, and four-channel preamp outputs for front, rear, or sub. Good sound, easy to install, but you need an idevice to play music other than CDs/Radio
This is a good receiver and CD player. We bought it to use in an off-grid cabin where the solar system provides 12v electric. It seemed silly and wasteful to use an inverter to power an AC sound system when 12v car decks are readily available. Works well, sounds great, my only complaint would be that MP3, Pandora etc only seem to work if you're runnning them on an Apple device. I would have bought the Android version had I known, and I still may if I can figure out what language Kenwood uses to describe to differentiate them.
