I don't even know what to write....
As my title says, this is simply overwhelming. This hardcover is so big, so gorgeous and so overwhelming by it's contents, that any review written, fails to do it justice. High quality paper, TONS of sketches, drawings and paintings, and written words accompanying, I think, every single picture. The book weighs nearly 10 kilos (21 pounds). Just...wow... By far the best collection of McQuarrie's Star Wars art
This book can still be found surprisingly at a decent price and is by far the best collection of McQuarrie's Star Wars art. Not only is this a must-have for any fan of Star Wars art, this is an amazing assembly of art in general. McQuarrie's preproduction paintings convinced 20th Century Fox to greenlight the first movie and if that doesn't speak volumes about how impressive just those images are, this double-volume collection shows practically "everything" Ralph McQuarrie doodled/sketched/painted for the first three movies.
