Please know that it works, it may take a few minutes to get to working properly all you have to do is flip the cable. on my macbook pro m4, the part of the cable that has the digital display i keep that plugged to my computer and the other end into my device. it works funny sometimes but all you do is unplug and flip the cable underside up. that works for me hope it works for you.
