The original title of the movie was going to be “Book Of The Dead” but was changed to “The Evil Dead”
I just got back into watching old horror films. Personally, I prefer horror movies from the 70s and 80s because they had to really work to make it seem real. The practical effects are better than cheesy CGI used for every horror film nowadays. This film is great and the cast did an amazing job. OK< The remake was so much better but for a 1982 horror film it is well done. I am spoiled! I watch a film like Taxi Driver which won Oscar's in 1976 and well deserved but the film 1982 Evil Dead is silly by comparison, of either films I referenced.
