Rembrandt Pastels ARE Better
I’ve been working with chalk pastels for a while. I decided to get into Rembrandt because people I met in my Portrait class were using them. When I compared prices, this seller’s was wonderful. I’ve completed my first Portrait on Mi Teintes “Touch”™. There was very little dust. The pastel, which is bound with specialty clay, worked into the surface in an almost creamy way. Colours blended more easily. I suppose I do miss putting on the occasional ‘painterly’ mark that the side of the chalk pastels can make. Perhaps they can be combined )?) Most of the colours were well-chosen for Potrsits. Frankly a few of them were too vivid for me to imagine using them for this subject matter.
