Synopsis
Before the 20th century, the concept of a priori knowledge - knowledge based in reason and reflection rather than experience - found nearly universal acceptance. By the early 20th century, however, philosophers were skeptical of the idea that there was any nontrivial existence of a priori knowledge. Fifty years later, it was fashionable to doubt it existed at all. The articles in this book tackle a priori knowledge from every angle - does it exist? what might it be like? what is its relation to empirical knowledge? - and other topics of perennial interest., A priori knowledge is alleged to be knowledge whose justification requires no appeal to experience. The issue of whether or not there is a priori knowledge so defined has been a central topic of debate in philosophy since its very beginning. Plato and Aristotle differed on this matter in antiquity, and so did the rationalists and empiricists in early modernity. The issue remains a bone of contention to this day., Before the 20th century, the concept of a priori knowledge -- knowledge based in reason and reflection rather than experience -- found nearly universal acceptance. Better than advertised: this book is in pristine condition. It shipped quickly, was priced fairly, and was well packed in a padded mailer so that it would survive the trip. All around a very good value, and this is a seller I'd be happy to buy from again.

Most importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered promptly from the USA to the UK. Also, the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. However, one point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been much better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a bubble-wrap mailer only, with no cardboard to give the package greater strength. Thank you very much for any consideration of my feedback.

Shipping was fast. This book arrived sooner than the expected delivery date. The book is exactly as described. The value and price of the book is great. I definitely will order more books from this seller. The packaging was sealed. If you are looking for used books, I recommend buying from this seller. The books are in good condition.
