Reviews
"This behemoth coffee table tome is packed with more than 1,900 stunning photos. . . A must-have for Disney parks history buffs."-- Attractions Magazine, "This heavyweight coffee table book was put together by professional archivists--and you can tell, because it's the most comprehensive of the Disney Editions publications we've ever seen. It's a wonderful way to preserve one of the most beloved aspects of Disney parking-going."-- The Frommer's Gift Guide for 2020, One of "24 Gifts for the Friend Who'd Rather Be at Disney . . . Because who couldn't use a little more magic? . . . A visit to Walt Disney World is special any time of year, but the parks come alive in a new way at the holidays, when there is even more lights, music, and merriment. The celebrations at Disney's parks and cruise ships around the world are captured in Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks , with nearly 1,900 photographs capturing details of the food, entertainment, and decor--down to the resort's tiniest four-inch-tall Christmas tree." --Valerie Marino and Megan Dubois, Condé Nast Traveler, ". . . If you're staying close to home this holiday season, you can experience Christmas at Disney by flipping through the nearly 400 pages in Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks: Celebrations Around the World from Fall to Winter -- preferably near a warm fireplace. . . ."-- Travel + Leisure, "To say it is a good read is really an understatement. It is one I look forward to revisiting throughout the fall and winter as there is just so much to absorb. It is very easy for me to give a solid hat tip to this book. It is one that every Disney fan will want and would make a great Christmas present!"-- DAPS MAGIC, "This heavyweight coffee table book was put together by professional archivists--and you can tell, because it's the most comprehensive of the Disney Editions publications we've ever seen. It's a wonderful way to preserve one of the most beloved aspects of Disney parking-going." -- The Frommer's Gift Guide for 2020
Synopsis
This deluxe jacketed hardcover is visual storytelling at its best. More than 1,900 photographs showcase Disney's key locations filled with special holiday menu offerings, the biggest parade and stage productions and nighttime spectacles, the tiniest decorating details from amazing artists and designers, and, of course, the most significant historical holiday events. The stories and contributions from so many unsung Cast Members (often hard at work at hours of the night when others are asleep) fill these pages, along with the joys of Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year celebrations. Time to join the party!, The autumn and winter holidays are more than individual, celebrated feasts; they are an exceptional concoction of feelings, dreams, hopes, reawakened memories, and (perhaps more than at any other time of year) a renewal of traditions. Sounds a bit like the Disney theme park experience already, doesn't it? Disney magic and holiday enchantment blend smoothly, and the result has delighted guests for decades. This spectacular oversized coffee table book offers visual storytelling at its best. More than 1,800 photographs (more than half of them taken just for this book) showcase Disney's key locations filled with special holiday menu offerings, the big biggest parade and stage productions and nighttime spectacles, the tiniest decorating details from amazing artists and designers, and of course the most significant historical holiday events. A harmonic trio of researchers, writers, and photographers logged more than 150,000 miles in visiting every Disney park and resort across the globe, personally documenting the holiday installations through fifty-five thousand photographs and, wherever possible, meeting the talented and endlessly passionate artisans behind it all. With twelve theme parks and dozens of resorts, plus numerous cruise ships, dining and shopping districts, and more than six decades of holiday experiences, there're a lot of pumpkin treatments and ornate trees to reflect upon. (The smallest holiday tree at a Disney property is just four inches high, while very tallest ever put up was seventy feet.) Every parade or show requires dozens (sometimes hundreds) of creative magicians both onstage and off. And each decoration is chosen carefully to fit within a story and is placed on its tree or garland by craftspeople backstage. The decor is installed onstage, maintained, and, ultimately, de-installed and disassembled by small armies of technicians before it is once again cleaned, prepared, and stored in vast warehouses for the next year's use. The stories and contributions from so many unsung employees (usually working hard at hours of the night when so many people are asleep) fill these pages, along with the joys of Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year celebrations. Time to join the party, This deluxe jacketed hardcover is visual storytelling at its best. I purchased the movie Tower of Terror from the seller Jon s Stuff and More. The movie was made in 1997 and I wanted to put it in my collection since it is not on Disney Plus. The package was packed well and arrived without damage. I put it in the DVD player and it started right up. The DVD looks like it was recently opened and barely played. The movie arrived in less than a week and the shipping price was very reasonable. I had a positive shopping experience and strongly recommend this seller.
