The Muzzy MX-3 100-grain broadhead is an arrowhead that is capable of producing a terrific experience during the hunt. Muzzy has enhanced its original three-bladed tip with the shorter profile and thicker blades of the MX-3. These broadheads have .025-inch thick stainless-steel blades and a 1.25-inch cutting diameter. These aerodynamic dimensions on a fixed-blade head improve arrow flight speed and accuracy. Upon impact, the arrowhead creates substantial killing power. The three parts are locked together for additional strength. The hollow-ground trocar tips are made of high-carbon steel hardened through a process of heating, quenching, and tempering. The hardening treatment creates a strong metal capable of holding sharp edges. They can even be sharpened successfully for long-term use. They are mounted on a ferrule of high-grade and lightweight aircraft aluminum. The trocar design of the product is the same three-bladed configuration used in some styles of surgical instruments. With this level of engineering, your shots will penetrate bone and produce blood flow. This will deliver a humane kill, which is the goal of hunters. You’ll also find that these products withstand repeated use. Even after crashing through bone, the edges will remain sharp and undamaged. Hunters frequently report achieving a large entry wound with these accessories. A large wound creates substantial blood flow. Good blood trail quality will help you track the dying animal. Muzzy MX3 100 gr 3 blade 1.25” diam cut are a good effective broadhead. Sometimes they can be found at the $20 price range with free ship. They may not be the very best 3 blade, but they are very effective and good fliers with practice blades available. If you can’t get them to fly, your bow is simply not tuned to your arrow with this broadhead on it. Flight problems are not this broadhead. I personally knew the family of John M the founder of Muzzy and his wife, His son John, daughter Michelle. I have shot at their traditional shoot at their home near Hunter Mt, several times. I was given a plastic box of the original Muzzy broadhead prototype from John as a gift. I’ve seen the original Muzzy broadheads shot through a 55 Gal barrel. Tough little broadhead
Shot a quartering doe this morning in the shoulder from an elevated tree stand. It broke the shoulder, came out the other side and stuck in the ground six inches. The blades were a little rough from the ride through the shoulder but they were still in tact. Doe ran about 40 yards and was done. I paid extra for these because I could tell that they were made awhile ago by the way the package looked. The last new style of muzzys that I bought the quality wasn’t good. Muzzy is getting cheap.
