New to Braun
This is the first foil type shaver I have ever owned, having used rotary style for over 50 years. It does a great job, but takes some getting used to. I actually made a minor cut on my chin once by sliding it sideways. I use it dry, but may try it wet eventually. It gives a very close shave quickly, but you need to guide it more carefully over your face than a rotary. It is less omni-directional. I gave it only 4 oit of 5 stars because the user directions are pretty lame. I prefer words along with pictures. In their attempt to make universal instructions that anyone can read, I think they've produced something that no one can easily understand. It's just OK.
I used to use my father's electric shavers in the 70"s. They never worked anywhere as well as the shaving cream and razor. I thought the technology had changed and the new models would work much better and safe time. I was wrong. Takes 2-3 times as long and there is still hair left. The device is beautiful. The instructions are pictorial only and not very clear. I had to call Braun to clarify.

Very close shave
I am very pleased with this shaver. My only complaint, and a tiny one at that, is the lack of a flip up trimmer. A trimmer is included, but needs to be installed in place of the shaver. When I am shaving I am usually getting ready for work, or an event. I don't want to have to keep the accessory with me, or have the time to switch them out. Otherwise, great shave, easy to clean and charge with the charging/sanitizing station. I am very pleased overall.I am very pleased with this shaver. Good Electric Razor
This the first electric razor I’ve used or owned. It shaves good for day to day shaving. If you have a two to three day growth it takes a few more passes to shave your beard somewhat clean. The razor charges fast and the cleaning base makes keeping the razor clean easy.

After using a Norelco for the past 30+ years I was tired of having to shave over the same areas several times to achieve a mediocre result, with some stubble still present! Even with new replacement blades the result was still the same. So, after a lot of research I purchased the Braun series 7. Many of the reviews that I read said that it was lighter and just as good as the Series 9. It was also $200.00 cheaper! I have never gotten a closer, more comfortable shave in all my life. The cleaning station is easy to use and I am happy that I purchased a model that has it. So, my advice is not to hesitate to buy a Braun.
