My overall experience is limited, but this is an extremely good mic based on what I've used. The sound is full and clean, and self-noise is low. It is especially good on the low end, which I understand is unusual for this price-range. The only other mics I've used that come close is the WA-87 and the Rode NT-1 and neither one matches it for male vocals. (The WA87 is, I think, better for female vocals) I use it in a cappella ensemble, and nothing I've tried matches it for bass.
