I enjoyed my first Bollywood type experience.

I cannot quite remember when I first saw this movie, but it helped connect me to Bollywood. I was somewhat disappointed in the disconnect of actor Salman Khan and since all the bad press of this actor since my first impression, I was intuitively correct and saddened by the direction and entitlement he felt deserved. Sorry, but I am too empathetic to watch more Salman Khan movies since Marigold. I now watch more realistic movies from this genre.

  • Plot summary and my opinion

If you have ever seen a Bollywood movie, you know they are longer than most movies due to the multiple song and dance routines (each one is over five minutes long). Fortunately, this one has fewer song and dance routines and fits into the “standard” movie length. Don’t get me wrong, I like Bollywood movies, but tend to fast forward through the song and dance portions. I bought this DVD because I am an Ian Bohen fan. Although his role wasn’t as large as I hoped, he still had a good amount of screen time. Ali Larter stars as feisty B-list actress Marigold Lexton, who has landed a part in Kama Sutra 3 and had an eventful journey to Goa, India. It is here she found out that the movie has been canceled, and she has no money to return home as she was provided with a one-way ticket. She lands a ...

  • Hollywood meets Bollywood...

Stunning Ali Larter plays Marigold Lexton, a spoiled American B-film star who is stranded in India when the funding (and production) of Kama Sutra 3 becomes non-existent. She humbly accepts a part role in a Bollywood picture and falls in love with the movie's choreographer/actor...Prem (played by Salman Khan) who also is secretly royalty and estranged from his father because he chose acting and dancing over the family's traditional purpose and standing. Cute music numbers and dance sequences intertwined within the Bollywood movie production within the movie add to the developing relationship which is threatened by a tradition vs. love plot involving Prem's arranged marriage to someone else and complicated by Marigold's obsessive ex-boyfriend, Barry, who goes to India to find her. Prem, ...

  • I smiled through much of Marigold, I love this move!

I discovered this film by accident, and have been blown away by how much it has changed my life. I saw the leading actress in another film and couldn't remember where I had seen her before, so I did an E-bey search under her name and found a cheap used copy of this film which I decided to buy. other ratings will give you other details about the story-line,and although it is a good one, well acted and fotographed. the film is in English but it was the background music and dance routine's that changed my life. I found myself compelled to smile while watching the sequences even though I couldn't understand the words being sung with the background dance routine's. I loved this movie, have watched it several times.

  • I’ve been looking 🕌

I had a chance to see this movie with my grand daughter and once it was gone I couldn’t find it in any listings I search 👀 no luck than I recalled luck with another movie 🍿 called soldier girl so I ran Marigold,by the group and here I am enjoying this amazing movie I even burst a few dance 💃 moves. 67 years okay 👌 girl’s still got it.
