This book was purchased, because I had been reading other books by Manly Palmer Hall, and I enjoyed what I read. The first section of this book, showed me why I received more from Chapter, than from Lodge. I guess I am a history buff, and Chapter is linked to a historical time period. I knew that the Lodge had to be older than 1786 Grand Constitutions. "on the 1st of May, 1786, the Grand Constitution of the 33d degree, Called the Supreme Council of Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, was finally ratified by his Majesty, the king of Prussia, who as Grand Commander of the Order of Prince of the Royal Secret, possessed the Sovereign Masonic power over all the Craft." It was a wonder to me, how the craft could spring upon the pages of history, just at this period, and have no history. This book,"The Lost Keys of Freemasony" filled in those those historic gaps, by returning to Old Egypt. I wish I had read this book a long time ago, and think that it should be required reading for all newly raised Master Masons. Here in Seattle, some bus routs stop running at 7 pm., so I will admit that I have not been to Lodge or Chapter for some time. Those who can visit a Lodge, should read this book, and I think would receive more from their Lodge Work.Read full review
