Using this Kinect to scan people and models into a MacBook Air using Skanect free software. Amazing results after 20 minutes. Great to recycle an unwanted product. I think Xbox had an accessory that they didn't make great use of. When I get time to add in a turntable and decent lighting it will be god enough quality to them 3D print models on my 3D printer.

I bought a game the other week without realising you need a Kinect to play the game, so i looked for one not wanting to spend a lot of money and found this one which is pretty cheap considering how much I've seen them go for (£60+) so when it got here i didn't have high hopes but so far it seems fine, a few minor scratches on the casing but nothing to bad or obvious. i have the original Xbox 360 which the Kinect doesn't plug into so you do need an adaptor which I've found one for about £4 and then if you have a flat screen TV you will probably need a stand for the Kinect which attaches to the TV its self i found one of those for about £8, which I've spent about £20 all together just for one game (i hope its worth it). this is such a good price for what it is, would definitely recommend.

Because our Xbox 360 is the original white one the Kinect simply doesn't just plug in, you need a USB adapter cable. Once we had purchased this separately it work fine. Easy enough to set up, our only difficult was the placement of the Kinect as it needed to be on top of the telly for best results and our telly was to thin for this. We then also had to purchase a Kinect cradle which holds is on top of any telly. So once we'd spent 3 times the amount we wanted to , the kids were free to argue and fight over who's turn it was and who was a loser and not doing it right

i wanted a SLS (structured light sensor) camera like what they use on a very well known ghost hunting program on tv and so got this kinect sensor. i connect it to a laptop through the available usb adapter/power supply and after downloading the required software from microsoft it works perfectly, it maps skeleton figures on humans as well as spirits and have had a couple of interesting captures so far, one within the first ten minutes. the seller posted this very quick and would always use them again. PERFECT.

A cheap method for getting basic Mocap software working. Only does stick figures though and can be awkward to configure in a small space.

Works well with xbox. Didnt buy it for that purpose though. Going to use it as part of a robot space and size detector.
