My aunt was a Detroit Piston fan back in the 80's and loved watching the games on this set! It brought back a lot of memories for her as she had watched the games live and didn't have them on VHS. However it was also a great set for me for these reasons: 1. Getting to see the Pistons-Bulls rivalry for the first time was a real treat. The Pistons were heavily favored to win this series, but you wouldn't know from how the young Bulls came out and stormed to a 2-1 lead that included a game 1 stunner in Detroit. Jordan fans will love game 3 as he broke through for 46 points and hit a game winning shot that tore the roof off of the old Chicago Stadium. The Pistons recovered to win the series, but it was clear that the Bulls were developing into the dynasty that they later would become even though they barely made it out of the first round, only squeaking by on Jordan's brilliant shot over Ehlo and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rating: 5 stars 2. My aunt loved the Finals games against the Lakers. Even though it was a sweep it was nice to see, the undermanned Lakers give it their all against the Pistons after Magic's and Byron Scott's injuries forced them out. Seeing Kareem go out to chants of his name was chilling, but even more inspiring was the red hot play of the Pistons that the Lakers couldn't stop as the Pistons were down and came, back or would at times dominate them at stretches. Even with Magic and Scott at full strength I'm not fully convinced LA would have won this series. Rating: 4 stars some good games but it was a sweep 3. Finally the bonus year in review DVD is very nice too. You get to see the players, some highlights and the Pistons as they got to championship. The mention of Kareem's sendoff with gifts at every arena stop was nice too. Rating: 3.5 stars, I would have liked a longer review video. All in all this is a great package for your money. You're getting the entire Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Bulls and the entire Finals vs. Lakers on 11 discs in full with no cheesy NBA TV rebroadcasts that edit out the footage they want. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it would have been nice to see more player introductions and interviews, but this is still an excellent package for your money. The 2004 Pistons were great champions, but to me the 89-90 Pistons were even more so the epitome of Deeeetroit Basketball!Read full review
Thrilled to have the 1988-1989 bad boy Detroit Pistons box set for years I’m so happy.

Great looking set. The Pistons have been my favorite team since I can remember so it was amazing to see this box set on here. It is the Eastern Conference Finals and the NBA Finals (against the Bulls in ECC and Lakers in the Finals) The only knock on it is that some of the quarters are joined in progress. It isn't "every game in its entirety" because some of the first couple of minutes are missing. Since I'm not a big stickler for that, I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
I still love it!!!
