We left cable some time ago, and operate from an antenna an broadcast programming. Since the shift to digital broadcast, older recorders with analog tuning are useless for capturing broadcast material. This unit, which has a digital tuner, provides this capability. Also, it feeds into the home theater function of my Panasonic TV, and allows splendid stereo sound from broadcast on my Klipsch speakers. I also have quite a collection of Laserdisc films, and this unit allows easy recording from Laserdisc to DVD (as well as VHS tape). It easily processes DVD recorded media into a format playable n any DVD machine. I am unable to provide any quibbling criticisms of this unit, as I have so far found NONE.
This was a replacement for the same model that got stuck on a F60 error. I already had the remote and a quick plug-in put me back into operation. The price was reasonable; the packing was excellent. Thank you.

I had another Panasonic that I used for the same purpose. Works great even after 8+ years of pretty substantial use. Same reason I went and bought another Panasonic, because I know they're well built and reliable. Even when it "freezes" momentarily (again, after 8+ years of work), just unplugging it and restarting usually solves the problem for quite some time.
