Very good. You get quality acoustic sound from a small body with more comfort then you would ever think.Very well built.Comes with heavy gauge strings tuned to pitch and has no problem handling that.Plugged in you can crank up very loud with no feedback.Neck pickup sounds like a hollow body Jazz guitar and you can blend the two pickups.I'm very satisfied with this guitar. It's my first Godin and I've owned Gibsons and Martins. This is better and more fun.
took a chance on the guitar, and i am seriously glad i did. i've owned other godin family guitars and have always loved their necks. same here. sounds loud enough not plugged in...even to give lessons with. amplified, sounds amazing. i have a genz benz shenandoah jr 30w amp that i use it with. having two output jacks comes in handy. i generally run the acoustic output into the amp's effects. humbucker goes into amp's "clean" channel, but thru analog effects first. huge array of sound possibilities with this guitar!!! everytime i play it, i like it more and more. i've been playing about 35 years and have owned just about everything and by everyone. i have no plans on getting rid of this.
This guitar seems to be well built. It requires very little truss rod adjustment. It has a very nice finish. I've played a fender strat for the last 28 years, so my review is compared to it. The godin a6 ultra is good for unplugged practice, but amped I find it lacking. I may need more time with the guitar to give a better review. Amped the eq is a bit lacking except for the bass end. The neck radius could be greater. I need to try more amp settings and different strings to make a fair review. (Update: I have changed the strings and tried another amp. The eq is still not impressive but this guitar sounds amazing. I love the size and fit to my large tummy. Great guitar.)
I have two A6 Ultras (Koa wood & Black) and one older A6. I love them ! The neck is easy to play like an electric guitar and body is thin and fairly light. Sound without an amp is loud enough for practice but obviously not the big sound of a big body acoustic. Amplified you have the best of both worlds a humbucker pick up for electric sounds & transducer pick up for your more mellow songs.... Great hybrid guitar ...try one out !
Extremely versatile, well crafted guitar. Allows me to switch from acoustic to electric on the fly. Blending the pickups allows me to add different effects and distortion levels through separate amps. I'm very happy with it!
