About this product

Product Information

THE RED VIOLIN follows the unusual journey of an original and unique violin as it survives three centuries, ultimately turning up at a present-day auction in Montreal. The violin transforms all those who play it into a Svengali, from traveling Gypsies to a famous concert violinist in England. The mysterious object also narrowly avoids confiscation in Communist China, and seems to always survive the different lives of those it touches. In the present day it becomes the subject of fascination for a violin historian, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who discovers that he has stumbled upon the much sought after Red Violin, leading him to consider a deception of his own kind as the film nears its climax.

Seller is legit. Free shipping was 4 days including the weekend. Game was put in plastic bag, bubble wrapped, and put in a box with more than enough packing peanuts to keep it safe. Game is in condition as it was listed. Very good place to buy rare graded games.

  • Worthwhile Movie for Music Lovers

I'm a great fan of Joshua Bell. When I learned that he played for the sound track of this movie, I had to have it, just for that reason. What I got when I watched the movie, was a surprisingly entertaining story, well-acted, with a riveting plot and satisfying ending. I was not too fond of the English dilettante who had possession of the violin for a time, but all other incarnations of the instrument were fascinating. There are not many movies, especially modern movies, that I would spend money for. This one is worth it.

  • The Red Violin

I love The Red Violin for the excellent casting and ability to capture my attention and hold it for the entire movie (even though there were subtitles). The history following this piece of art is complelling and disturbing at the same time. This is a heart wrenching tale of passion. I LOVE IT!

  • Story about a Red Violin and its owners in history.

Excellent movie. A portion of it does have subtitles. If you liked the movies, Impromptu or Amadeus, you would probably like this movie as well. It contains some romance and intrigue as well.
