So happy to find it on Ebay. I live so far away from an Ikea, I had one for years and it started to get caroded I think from putting it in the dishwasher so would not reccommed that. But love this garlic press.

Great design and the press cup that can slide out, makes for easy cleaning. My only reservation is the riveted hinge pins. They look a little on the flimsy side but time will tell how well it holds up, otherwise it works excellent. I've used it so far with garlic and ginger.

I have owned several garlic presses over the years. Most have been disappointing, to say the least. They required using the strength of two hands to push the garlic through; hard to do. Even then all the garlic didn't get pressed, This Ikea press works easily and gets almost all the garlic processed. I even use it on fresh ginger pieces quite effectively. Mincing ginger by hand is hard to do because it is stringy and tough. So, this press is very handy when making a stirfry,
