Product Information

Burt Reynolds stars in this touching drama as Eli Zeal, a grocery store owner who is accidentally shot by a ten year-old boy named Thaniel Battle. When his mother, Tyree, sees what her son has done, she panics and takes the wounded Zeal to her hometown of Waterproof, Louisiana. Eli, in no condition to run, must adapt to Tyree's dysfunctional family that includes an alcoholic brother and two parents who obviously have no faith in their daughter. Soon Eli, who has lost his own family, finds himself identifying with Tyree and doing what he can to restore the familial bonds that have been broken.

    Oscar Nomination for Worst Movie of the Year

    Dumb. This movie is worse than Wing Commander, except that unlike Wing Commander, it isn't funny. The fact that Burt Reynolds and Orlando Jones were involved with this movie is unfathomable. For the unknown actors who had bills to pay, I understand why they would be involved: work or face a collection agency. But for Burt Reynolds and Orlando Jones? The most exciting part of the movie is when the boy shoots Burt Reynolds' character, but that's over in the first seven minutes. What follows is absurd: the wounded man gets into a car with the boy and his mother for a road trip. Huh? Perhaps if there was inspiring dialogue on the way to the hospital, Waterproof could have redeemed itself. However, it doesn't happen. The road trip is boring. The trio go to a little town called Waterproof, ...

    Waterproof - Five Stars

    We enjoyed this movie and I recommend it to others to watch. A great way for the family to spend the evening. It shows two sides of life, the big city and street life and the life in a southern town. It shows what forgiveness can do. Burt Reynolds plays a great part as do all the others. It's about redemption and forgiveness played to perfection. It also shows that a family movie can be made with drama without any foul language or four letter words being used. It is a good clean movie for the entire family to enjoy. Watch it, you won't be sorry.

    One of the Best Christian Movies I've Seen

    I liked this movie because it showed how far-reaching & damaging running & lying is to a family. It also showed how powerful & healing forgiveness can be when we take responsibility and try to make things right. That even after great devastation things can still be turned around. This movie had a lot more depth to it than many Christian movies I've seen. It would touch a lot of people who have experienced family suffering.

    Waterproof

    A great inspirational movie of a black family and white man who learn to respect and love each other. Contrary to some have said, I did take the time to watch the entire movie. As a result, I was encouraged by the message conveyed. It wasnt until the end that most of what took place in the movie was actually revealed. Humorous, entertaining, thought-provoking and inspiring best describe this movie. I thought the movie was well made and indeed a tribute to the actors who played in it. As an added plus it didnt have any foul language and the theme in my opinion was excellent. Definitley worth watching!!!
