    AWESOME SENNHEISER HEADPHONES

    GREAT QUALITY-GREAT PRICE! I'm what you call a practical audiophile. So many things in your set-up make a difference in sound quality. Power, cables, delivery(tt, cd player, ect.) Unless you have all the money, your sonic music field can never be perfect. All you can do is work with what you have. These headphones are open back, And that takes a bit of getting used to.I like them. I'm old school. I wanted a pair with 1/4 plug. I like the color ( light gray)- I find it refreshing-everything else is black. Super comfy and completely over the ears. The sound is overall a tad "dark". But very livable. I try to keep all controls "flat". Keep in mind your background has to be dead quiet. I think you will enjoy these. I sure did. Thank for looking at this brief post. THE BLUES DUDE.

    Sennheiser HD 579

    The Sennheiser HD 579 Stereophones are good quality. I have owned other Sennheiser Stereophones in the past and these are also a good quality item. The build is solid and appears to be of good quality. The fit is comfortable and sound is involving and with a good stereo sound image. The bass is extended without being exaggerated. The high end is clear and open. The speakers in each ear cup are pointed inward toward your ears. (Some Bose brand headphones also have this feature, which actually beams the sound directly into the ear.)

    Not the best for bassheads but I like the sound quality.

    Sennheiser HD 579: For $100 or a little more, I think the headphones are an excellent value, especially considering they don't need an amp to power them like I have heard you will need with the HD600. Pros: Clean and spacious sound quality. -Easy to power. I do not need a headphone amp to drive them to good listening levels. -Lightweight and comfortable. -Open-back design allows you to hear what is going on around you. It leaks sound, obviously, but it's never been an issue for me. -Seems more life-like with the open-back nature. -Removable cord. -No listener fatigue for me. -High are clean and well-defined. -Best for rock or any music where the bass is not the most important or needed to be over-emphasized. If you prefer more bass, I would recommend the Status OB-1. Neither here nor ...

    The jacks are large

    Everything is great. The jack are large, I mean the add-on fits my phone, but the plastic around them are large. I had to take my phone case off to plug it in, had to buy a new case too to work with these. Other than that, they are fantastic quality. My ears don't hurt when they are on since they go around my ears.

    Good but not perfect.

    These headphones sound real good and are very comfortable. The downside is, even though I have a fairly large head, the bottom of the ear cups aren't really snug against my head. Hence the four stars.
