I've owned a number of SCAA certified coffee makers over the years (including Technivorm, Bonavita, Oxo, and Braun) and this one is my all around favorite. It just brews a reliably excellent cup of coffee every single time. I appreciate that it pre-heats the entire batch of water before dispersing over the grounds (rare feature in a coffee maker these days). That pre-heating allows for very precise control of water temperature, and it shows in the resultant coffee. The coffee is always rich, complex, and perfectly extracted... which is not always the case with every SCAA coffee maker. They've all got their quirks. The Kitchenaid also looks great, and has an excellent user interface. As far as I'm concerned, this is as good as it gets for automatic/pour over brewers. When I found out Kitchenaid discontinued them, I bought two spares. Yes, that's how much I like them!Read full review

The pour-over design of the pulsing water flow significantly aids if developing a rich, complex coffee flavor. The regular drip coffee makers can not come close in their brewing. Very similar to barista shop quality. Very pleased. Glad to be placing my pod coffee maker in the pantry.
