The drive is very solid and very quiet. This is another super drive by western digital as most all there drives are. The return process for wester digital is second to none. Nine out of ten times when you do have a problem and send your drive back to western digital they will send you a larger drive for the replacement. The return is so simple on the internet to fill it out and also any other drives with in five years old simple to type in the serial number for validation and whether they are still under war. These are ENTERPRISE rated drives which mean they SHOULD last longer than "consumer class". They test very highly in HD Tune compared to all but the 10k drives and have a 5 year warranty new. Can usually be found on ebay for less than $50 new or $65 at many vendors. Good to use as a system drive where you don't need a lot of space. Solid and reliable drives. Great for home and office desktops.
RE3 drives were developed for server use and have an excellent track record. According to the research I have done, they have proven very reliable and have a low failure rate. These make excellent drives for home and office desktop computers.
