About this product

Product Information

In Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean, players assume the role of a traveling musician named Forte. As in most RPG titles, gamers must guide Forte and his band of friends through a variety of environments as they search for a common goal. Forte is the owner of a mysterious map that shows the location of musically powered resonance stones. As Forte searches for the rock relics, he must defend his party against monsters roaming in the wild and complete a variety of side quests throughout the journey.

Gamers may attack monsters or avoid them, and during battle players can control up to four members of their group. Each character can be used to execute basic attack moves, cast spells, or take a defensive stance. During the game, players will notice a kind of pet traveling with their party. If the animal is treated well and fed it will become an ally during battle. For example, a well-fed rabbit has a habit of healing group members during combat. Players who have saved data from previous games in the series will find an extra mode where characters from former titles may be used during a fight.

  • A musical RPG?

After playing through the previous 2 Legend of Heroes games on the PSP, I had to have the third installment. Much to my amazement, this is not that much like its predecessors. This is a musical RPG. If you own the other two games in the series, this game is a must have. You can incorporate the save files from the other two games to unlock new areas where you can get power ups and rack up the experience. This game is classic 16 bit RPG gaming at its best. This is a throw back to the days of the Super Nintendo and all the classic RPGs it brought with it. The graphics are somewhat improved versus the old SNES RPGs but the gameplay is pretty much the same as anything from the 16 bit era. The music is outstanding on the PSP, which is to be expected. This journey is quite a bit longer ...

  • Great end to The Gagharv Trilogy!

If you played the first 2 games then you know what to expect. The game is a throw back to old school RPGs, with beautiful 3D background and cute little sprites for characters. Speaking of characters, there are A LOT of them. Even some characters from the previous games return. Plus if you have your saved data from the last 2 games you can gain access to special events like visiting previous locations and fighting memorable bosses. The battle system is not as deep as some might hope for but its fun to play and easy to get used to. The story is nothing new to the RPG market but its very deep and invloving. It does start up slow, maybe even too slow but it picks about about half way and from there you would not want to stop til you see the end. The series has been kn ow for some great ...

  • Speedy

The merchandise came as detailed in it's description. This was probably my best e-bay bid/purchase ever. The game was in perfect condition, it played. I bought the game to keep me occupied. I am a big fan of the Final Fantasy line and this seemed to have some of the same concepts. The bid was at a low point so I decided to try for it. After receiving it, I discovered that the story line was a bit long and tedious, not at all like FF. It was hard for me to stay focus on the game due to the story line. However, my twelve year old daughter seems to really enjoy the game and is now playing it. So I guess that it was worth it after all.

  • A bit pricey to buy but from what I've heard it's a really good game.

What I've heard about this game I've really liked. I bought it to see what all the huff and puff about it was about. I have yet to play it but will soon.
