Very great radar detector, Get it now, to save money and demerits later on
I bought this product as i had been caught speeding for my first time and wanted to try to reduce the chance of this happening again. I have 3 of these detectors in my 3 cars and they have worked a charm. It seems to on average give a few seconds notice before a speed camera has your speed, not long, but enough to allow you to hit the brake a little. It picks up a LOT of electrical doors from shops, but so long as you're at the correct speed limit when you hear it, you're safe. I have never been caught speeding since and have never passed a camera and had it not work There are X, K, KA and laser frequency detection. X is not used in Australia. I wish that K band was a bit louder as that seems to be what the moving police vehicles used. Whistler Pro-78SE High-Performance Radar Detector
Seems to pick up a lot of false alerts. It does however, detect most radar. Don't feel as though its very trustworthy. If one can afford a better unit, it could be money well spent. Not entirely satisfied. Hope this helps someone else.

Good detector, not great
Good radar detector for the price. Works great in regards to picking up speed traps. Most cops use the "Ka" band, and it has picked em up. I'd say the only major downside is false alarms. I've had the "K" band go crazy for quite literally an hour at a time, I found out its caused by other radar detectors in nearby vehicles, it can be aggravating if you're driving behind one for several hours. Other than that, it does the job it's supposed to, you get what you pay for.Good radar detector for the price. Works great in regards to picking up speed traps.
