Made by Lionel Trains Inc. (LTI) in 1992 and following Lionel's Post War Era design, this caboose is very near scale size and uses a paint and lettering scheme that is historically accurate. Though the wheel trucks and couplers are plastic, they look good and typically function properly. The two power pickup rollers minimize any flickering of the internal light. My sole criticism, and it is a mild one, is that the yellow end platforms, while correct in color, would look better were they painted rather than being molded from yellow plastic, but production cost had to be considered. All in all, the caboose is well constructed and looks very good bringing up the markers at the end of any C&NW freight train.

Since I was born and raised in the Midwest the C&NW was the only line in remember as a youngster!! The red caboose adds substantial color to my already significant collection of C&NW rolling stock and assortment of engines!!
