Old School Horror Flick
This is the only other movie from cult director Dante Tomaselli that I like, besides his masterpiece "Desecration." Of course "Satan's Playground" doesn't possess that same surreal, artistic style his first one had, but this is a real old school style, low budget horror flick that should please fans of this specific genre. Lots of gore set pieces and eerie location shooting, plus it features Irma St. Paul, the world's oldest working actress in a creepy role as a forest witch. If you want to see a 100 year old woman killing people and snorting cocaine, look no further than "Satan's Playground." If "Desecration" was inspired by the Italian horror of the 70s, "Satan's Playground" is certainly inspired by 80s horror movies, specifically "Evil Dead."This is the only other movie from cult director Dante Tomaselli that I like, besides his masterpiece "Desecration." I am from New Jersey and I really enjoy the legend of the Jersey Devil, but no one can seem to give the legend justice. I have seen all of the movies made and the only one that had promise was "The Last Broadcast", but even that one let me down at the end. Satan's Playground is one of those movies that is disturbing, but by way of acting and script. Do yourself a favor and rent it if you can find it, don't buy it like I did.
