The book was a good insight into the life of Frank Zappa. I would have liked to have read about the insight into his development of his music, Mothers of Invention, the band members and the contributing factors to his success (i.e. family, friends, and influences). I believe that Frank was such an innate musician that he figured that you could just see what he was thinking. Zappa had a lot of frustration with the music industry as a whole, a real love/hate relationship. Overall I give Franks book a B.
The Real Frank Zappa, I found this book to be as interesting as FZ himself.Creativity. A smart man. I'm about half way through the book. ( I've had it one day ) I've liked him a long time and this book gives insight into his twisted little mind. He offers input into his growning up poor as well as his musical creativity. I found his bio to be quite amusing. If you are a Frank Zappa fan, I'd recomend that you read this book. It gives good insight to what went on with the Mothers, the music he made from the 50's to present ( well, 1989 when published )
Frank Zappa wrote one HELL of an entertaining autobiography. I've read it at least three times and have often given copies as gifts. He was a fascinating human and I so happy he left this literary gift before he left this Earth to jam with the other Rock Gods.

Reading his words are like having him sitting in your living room having a chat. I enjoyed his humor and honesty. Fast easy read. Good book.
