  • I'm just a Makita Guy, Just stay away from their cheaper lines and you can't go wrong, you pay for what you get.

Makita blades are about as good as you can get, without paying a fortune for something just a hair better. Again they cost more that knock offs, but last so much longer if your stay out of nails and such. A good tip is to always keep the blade clean, don't let sap and build up on the blade, stops it from cutting smooth and stays cooler for a longer life. I use carb. cleaner in the spray can to clean them and then a little WD-40 to keep them from rusting.

  • May be OK for soft metals, but not for steel

It's touted as being able to cut steel. I tried to cut 1/4" mild steel sheet on a saw that runs below the maximum recommended blade speed, used cutting fluid, set the blade to just deep enough to get through the sheet, entered the cuts carefully, and didn't force it at all. Before I'd cut more than a couple of feet the blade started losing carbide teeth and lost them all before long.
