The Kindle is new and as today works great. My issue with this purchase is that the seller contacted me to my personal number to charge me an extra $7.85, for shipping. I just told them they could just cancel my purchase so they just said not to worry about the extra cost. The item came in a FedEx plastic bag with no extra protection. I paid $12.85 for shipping and the seller wated to charged my extra $ just to ship the item in a bag.
