If you are already in the DeWalt ecosystem, and have existing 5ah batteries, the price gets much more palatable with the tool only purchase. The saw has worked great after a few hours of use with both the two segments and fully extended with all three. It's about as light as you could expect a saw of this type to be which eliminates a lot of the fatigue you could get with hoisting a pole saw for extended periods, while still feeling sturdy and well-built. I do wish it was a bit easier to tighten the chain - mine needed tightening mid-way through its first use, but they do provide convenient access to the allen wrench needed. Overall, great portable option that made quick work of branches up to 5 or 6 inches in diameter.

It was weak to begin with and I thought it was just a poor design, It continued to get weaker even with a freshly charged flexvolt battery not even cutting a thumb size limb until it quit completely. I will try to see if Dewalt will make it good as I have used Dewalt products in the past and always been quite pleased. I have a Flexvolt 60 volt chainsaw which I am thrilled with and other dewalt tools all of which have served me well. I cut maybe 100 limbs size 2 inch and less before this failure. If Dewalt will replace this saw I will give an updated review.

Product performs as advertised and expected. Simple assembly and extension options makes for easy transport and versatility. Interchangeable battery/charging options allows for shared use with other DeWalt power tools. While a bit awkward when fully extended, it makes for reaching those normally out of reach, troublesome limbs a breeze to prune. You simply rest the tool on the desired limb, press the trigger, and the saw does the rest in a matter of seconds. The chain has a standard pitch, which makes for easy sharpening when/if necessary. I regret not making this investment years ago. It would have saved a lot of aggravation and frustration.

This saw is lightweight and yet cuts more strongly than my corded chainsaw. It is very high quality and works wonderful even with the long extension pole, or without it. I used my backhoe as a platform that raised me 16 feet into the air, and then I could reach up to about 30 feet above the ground. This saw was light enough that I could easily extend it to the maximum reach to saw branches off. It's lighter than my older corded pole saw (Sun Joe brand), and cuts with more power. LOVE IT!

If you need to occasional trim trees etc., this works great and at at reasonable price point. For regular use; a tier one gas pole saw will be better for the application or if you need power. That said, the DeWalt does a very descent job of cutting at about a fifth of the price.

Dewalt polesaw is excellent. The pole connections are sturdy and the motor has lots of power, far better than a Ryobi I was lent. I gave that back. CPO is also an excellent place to buy.

This is my fourth pole saw. I have had a corded, a gas powered 2-stroke, an off brand cordless and now this Dewalt. Gas cuts the best but what a pain in the gluteus maximus. I have a great many Dewalt tools, 3 chargers and 5 five amp hr., 2 -4amp hr. a couple of 3 and 1.5 batteries. Bare tool works for me.

The unit is a little heavy, but not near as heavy as a gas powered pole saw. The extra extension is great. Without the extension in, the unit is real easy to handle. I have a large number of batteries, so it was not necessary to buy more batteries or chargers.

Rechargeable means not having to lug hundreds of feet of power cord around behind it. Hurray! Other reviews report the saw bar is week but That hasn't manifested itself, yet. Chassis bar does not collapse on itself for different height cuts but the center section can be removed to allow for that. Seems sturdy and cuts well. Assuming I don't have to replace the saw bar frequently, I will be happy with this saw.

This is my 1st Dewalt pole saw. I have used it quite a bit and it works fairly well. But it does need a bit more power, professional it is not. I think it should be made in 60volt. If the saw chain bits in the wood too much, it just stops. Even with a fully charge battery. It leaks chain oil, but I haven't seen a chainsaw that doesn't. It's heavy on the saw end but that just helps it cut better. It's hard to do an under cut on the branch to prevent bark tear.
