    Belongs in every storyteller's toolbox

    I've only just breached the surface here, but from what I've read so far, I can tell this book is going on my permanent writing reference shelf. McKee knows his stuff and how to communicate it. I originally purchased this title as a supplementary resource suggested by Neil Gaiman's masterclass in storytelling, figuring if someone of his stature and experience found it useful, I might too. And I will be forever grateful that I did.

A must for any kind of writer, it succinctly deconstructs the timeless and universal elements of storytelling in a way that will help writers understand how to strip the wasterful expository writing that too often bogs down a story and use only scenes that advance a story, give it meaning and hold the audience's attention.
