    Camo Baofeng UV-6R Radio

    Unit purchased was to replace older version. Very pleased/extremely pleased - the improvement to radio and quality of radio greatly improved. Purchased extended battery also and unit in green/black camo meets my needs. So impressed with this radio combination I purchased a second unit also in camo and also another extended battery. I used my unit mainly to listen to FM radio and scanner for monitoring local law enforcement. Working on obtaining HAM license at this time.

    As advertised

    One of the two batteries, on stand-by, is discharging quicker than the other. This review may still change after three (3) cycling. The same battery has a slight size difference, a bit difficult to install into the radio.

    Baofeng Battery

    Battery fits well and performs as expected. One modification needed was the small feet on the bottom of the battery stand taller than the feet on the scanner. This causes the scanner to fall forward. A quick touch up with a flat file fixed this.

    Great Unit

    I work on movie sets and feed TV crews, remote locations. This unit allows me to monitor local police, in case the crew is making too much noise, I can talk to the crew motorola radios, AND other brands, it is an all in one for my use, I no longer have to carry 4 radios. I get a LOT of flack from hardcore HAM users about licensing and FCC about this handheld, as far as I am concerned, my use is no threat to the FCC. Great, inexpensive product, the software lets you program your radio EASILY, no messing around with the confusing programming menu on the unit itself.

    Great for UV-5R

    Have several of these larger capacity batteries. Stock battery with radio is good, but with this battery I can get up to 4 days of monitoring. I have one on all my Baofengs, of which I have several. I advise upon receipt to do as they say in some manuals, I run it until it cuts off due to low voltage and then recharge, I do this three times as advised and my batteries seem to run much longer due to this cycling. I plan on doing this at least every year.
