I have never purchased an open box recertified Hard Drive. Seem to be fine so far. I will revisit in a week or so. This drive is for my server with a large number of movies. 900 or more. As far as the value. this is great considering the size of the drive. The appearance is different, not the same as the picture. It appears to be a more generic labeling. The quality seem to be good so far. TY
