Roomba 870
We were pleasantly surprised at the great job it does. Works for 45 minutes or longer without stopping. I can't push a regular vac that long without my back hurting. So I just love it. The light tells you when the bin is full and it's easy to empty. We do have 4 small, short coated dogs in the house, but there's more pet hair than you would think. Helps out a lot. I was skeptical, even though I researched them a lot before making the purchase. Glad that I gave it a try. There are a few things around the room you will probably want to move. One week and great
Easy to set up. Can't believe how much dog fur it picked up in the first couple of days. We had to empty the bin 6 times a day! The bin is small, but the robot is strong enough to really pack it in. After he catches up with the backlog he finds under furniture, in corners and in places you can't normally get to, the bin emptying returns to just once a day. Going over thresholds is no problem and he has yet to get stuck anywhere. The virtual walls/halo (just put a piece of tape over the IR sensor on the side of a virtual wall tower and it becomes a halo...) work very well to keep him away from dog bowls and computer cable mess. He is a bit loud, but until someone invents silent blower motors, there is nothing you can do. I prefer effective over silent. Pricey, but I highly recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Roomba 870 performance
I bought my Roomba 870 used. I am currently using this in my home and couldn't be happier. It's easy to program and its interface is intuitive. It has great suction power and I'm surprised how well it picks up dog hair over a regular vacuum. I'd highly recommend it. It is fairly loud to operate so keep that in mind when you chose a time. Also be wary about running this if you have a pet that is unsupervised for any length of time. My dog had an accident and Roomba ran over this - and spread it around. Be careful! Great little machine
It gets into places that every with a dust mob, I would miss. Use it daily or every other day and your floors and area rugs stay clean. Works as advertised
I'm a senior who can no longer push a vacuum. Just got my Roomba last week and have used it once. I followed as it did my 1500 sq. foot home. I loved the way it got the baseboards and managed to adjust from my wood floors to my two area rugs. My tile kitchen and bathrooms were done with ease. Performs well
We have used the iRobot 780 for several years and I would say this 870 performs about the same. We have not used it long enough to evaluate how well the pickup rollers will last and since it was purchased used we don't know how many times it had been used. It seems a little quieter than the 780 and a little less reckless as far as bumping into things before changing direction. It does a pretty good job of covering all the floor area during its cycle and moving between rooms. It collects about the same amount of debris as the 780 which uses a brush versus rollers. Roomba The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Roomba is fabulous!!!!! Not a day goes by I don't wake to a spotless house!!! I have 3 dogs that shed, a lot. That isn't any problem for Roomba. Rufus is the bomb!
The kids named it Rufus... It is quiet and goes about its business diligently. The dogs were scared of it at first, but sometimes don't move now until they are bumped. LOL.
