    excellent camera in a small package

    I had a lumix just like this one for several years, then the mechanism jammed. So this was a good replacement for not much money. Nice zoom, sharp picture, handy size.

    Panasonic Lumix DMC FS 15

    Likes: Good clarity, auto focus, related indicators and associated light. Instructions are hard-printed rather than on a CD. Excellent apparent overall quality , fit and finish. Nice leather carrying case. I decided to buy it due to the Leica zoom lens which came with it. Dislikes: Camera apparently has a "smart function" which precludes the use of non Panasonic branded replacement batteries-this greatly adds to operating costs. Shutter release and zoom buttons have an awkward feel, which can slow down acquisition. Like all compact digital cameras, this is not a fast-action camera.

    Great little camera for the price.

    I bought this camera to take on a trip. We were going sailing in the Virgin Islands on a small catamaran and space was limited. I didn't want to take my much bigger and more expensive camera equipment. This camera worked nicely and was very convenient to carry around. It's two biggest drawbacks were that it was sometimes very slow to focus and there is no raw mode available. The jpeg files have a limited dynamic range which is fairly normal for a camera of this type. However, it is better than not having a camera at all and I am glad I bought it.

    Full of options!!!

    I knew from the Leica lens that this camera would be taking fantastic photos but I was greatly surprised by the large number of options for taking perfect pictures. Of course any average Joe could just set it up for full automatic mode and take great shots but one of the first options I tried was the multi-shot option. This option will take 3 or more images in rapid fire method by pressing the shutter release only one time. Why is that a great option? Because when you try to take a picture of your kid scoring a soccer goal in single photo mode you're not going to time it perfectly. With multi-mode you will get images before the score and after. A priceless sequence of shots for any proud parent. This is only one feature of this camera. There are more than I will probably ever use ...

    Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15 12.1 Megapixel

    Very compact, easy to use and takes great pictures. We had bought one new, that I dropped and broke the display. Bought a new LCD on ebay, but damaged the backlight. Bought a used, as-is camera, for its backlight. Repaired #1, #2 had issues, so I bought #3- this one- that just needed a charger- that came from #2. Got a great deal and it works great! Wish me luck with #4!
