Good deal need parts, armature.
Easy to fix, rework, if needed, used to repair them. Make sure it has the OEM motor, if you don't vacuum up water/fluids, will last a lifetime. But, most people strongly prefer upright vacuums. Weakness is in the hose, the electrical wires, break, with all the twisting etc, that the worst feature of the vacuum. This is for using the power nozzle, can buy pass that with attaching extension cord to hose, and plug extension cord into wall, a bit of a hassle, but, not worth $40.00 or so for new hose if you can find one. The review is for electrolux vacuum build/sold/made on of before 1987, I don't know how they changed after that. This vacuum is potent enough to handle various types of household dirt, from fine dust to coarser dirt, such as pet hair and pine needles. The attachments allow you to perform various tasks such as cleaning screens & windowsills, dusting baseboards, vacuuming steps, and vacuuming upholstery. The crevice tool allows you to get into various hard to reach places, especially when vacuuming a car. Plus, the power nozzle brings life to dull rugs and carpet. The vacuum itself will last and last, and is designed to perform well over years of time (unlike the plastic stuff made today). The hose can be a drawback, because the older braided ones allow air to escape and they clog easily, but a new replacement hose is easily available on Ebay. It's as "old" as "new"!
This is a vintage Electrolux canister - exactly like my old one that I've had a good 20-25 years and it was a used one when I bought it! The motor was wearing out so I ordered this one and it works just perfectly! These are really the best vacuums - even better than the new ones! This seller is also to be congratulated! I purchased on May 23rd and rec'd May 26th!
