    Easy Install with great operation!

Received the used part in protective packaging, was easy install, updated drivers installed on start-up and unit runs extremely well. I believe it will run as long a new part and as reliably. I have been using "used parts" to build new computers for over 25 years and know if they have been taken care of they will last a long time. This one was well taken care of and tests to specifications.

    Did not work

the CPU arrived in great condition, i installed it in my CPU socket no problem, i turned the pc on and the screen did not show up, it looked like it turned off after a few seconds but the fan revved up to full speed. i tested it with another CPU and it worked fine. i think i got a defective cpu

  • Great Option for upgrading an old PC to use as a network server.

The Intel Pressler/900 series Pentium D processors are based on the Cedar Mill / Netburst architecture, 65nm die process. This is a relatively low thermal 95W TDP and provides 2MB of L2 cache per core, unlike the 800 series Smithfield Pentium D witch has 1 MB cache per core. Netburst is very sensitive to caching, the more, the better. This chip will provide modern low/midrange smartphone level performance, which is adequate for today's media-rich internet. I'm using this in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Cent OS learning setup, and so far so good. Very economical option in a Dell GX620 for learning how to setup/configure and secure network servers.

  • alot faster than my Pentium 4

its a lot faster and easy to install but it kept my fans running at full speed all the time ,was way too noisy for me other than that it was great very reasonable in price overall i'm happy with it.

  • Intel Pentium D 945 3.4 GHz Processor

We were building a system to replace a single core 3.2ghz system. We have had good success with the Pentium D series. We have another system that is a 3.4ghz Pentium D, a gamer, which works great. They at this point the Pentium D's are cheap and they get the job done. The core 2 duo processors are faster though, even when the ghz rating shows it is lower number.Yes its true, they process faster even with a lower ghz rating. But this processor is worth the money.
